Seasoned, professional musicians providing rock, reggae and jazz to suit our clients and venues.
Jack “Moon” Mooney began his musical journey playing clubs and coffee houses in the NY metropolitan area. After relocating to Broward County, he has been a mainstay in the S. Florida music scene as founder and singer/guitarist in the Tracy Steele Band, Urban Blues Express with Grammy nominated saxophonist Tim Eyermann, and most recently the Acoustic Souls. His vision in forming this duo was to break the mold of the typical “Jimmy Buffet” or steel drum poolside/dockside entertainment and deliver a wide range of musical styles with soulful, accomplished musicians.
For most of his life, NY native Phil “Cachi” Velez has been playing percussion – taught by his father, the late great Phil “Pipo” Velez. Cachi began his musical career singing backup, dancing, and choreographing for Lagosa records. He later obtained a Degree in Audio Engineering and Sound Recording from Mercy College/Center for the Media Arts. Performances include playing congas, bongos and timbales with the Fania All Stars Lengds, Willi Colon & Yomo Toro, Chino, Marlow Rosado y la Riquena, and Sammy Figueroa, just to name a few. Since relocating to South Florida, Cachi has formed Cachi y Saoco Neuvo, Cachi and his Salsa Jazz Ensemble, and the duo Moonray & Cachi.
